The Sapareva Banya municipality contains many popular tourist destinations and is known for its cool, clean mountain water and in the area you can find the following landmarks:

  • The hottest mineral water in all of Europe (103 C), and the only active geyser in the Balkans spraying water high into the air. This famous landmark  is a unique geothermal mineral spring in the very center of the town.
  • Ovchartsi Waterfalls. Here there is an observation point from where you can watch water fall from 39 meters and crash into to large pools located just below. This village is also famous for its group of singing grandmothers that perform at national festivals throughout Bulgaria.
  • The Seven Rila Lakes (Седем(те) Рилски езера, Sedem(te) Rilski ezera) are a group of lakes of glacial origin, situated in the northwestern Rila Mountains in Bulgaria. They are the most visited group of lakes in Bulgaria. The lakes are situated between 2,100 and 2,500 metres elevation above sea level.
  • Panichishte Ski Resort at 1,300m - 1,600m altitude above the sea level.
  • Musala peak (2925m), the highest peak on the Balkan Peninsula. The Alpine like contours of the mountain and the presence of steep alpine walls of Zlya zab, Orlovets and others, (among which the Northern wall of Malyovitsa peak is the most difficult one) make the mountain preferable place for extreme sports - mountaineering and alpinism.
